Women's ProgramsThree ECW ChaptersThe Episcopal Church Women are committed to supporting the programs and mission philosophy of the parish, contributing time, talent and treasure to a variety of undertakings. The ECW represents all women in the parish, although the membership of three established chapters - St. Boniface, St. Francis and St. George's - carry out the bulk of the duties. Each of the chapters has a distinctive personality and purpose, providing "something for everyone." St. Boniface Chapter delivers flowers to shut-ins, donates to local charities and manages the Café during the Christmas Shop. The chapter will meet on September 8 and November 10, 2008, and on January 12 and March 9, 2009. St. Francis Chapter meets on the second Monday of the month at noon in the All Saints' parish hall for fellowship and to plan involvement in parish activities. St. Francis ECW helps with a service of Holy Communion at Brandywine, an assisted living community. They also sponsor the Potpourri Booth at the Christmas Shop. St. George's Chapter meets on the second Monday of the month (except July) at 10:00 a.m. to plan coffee hours and focus on other events at St. George's Chapel. The group meets on Thursdays to make crafts which they sell in the St. George's Booth at the Christmas Shop. Recently this chapter has sponsored an annual Christmas Fair in December at the St. George's Parish Hall. |
Women's Ministries
The ECW chapters are also hostesses for the Bishop's annual visits to both churches and for the annual parish meeting. Each of the ECW chapters has its own community outreach projects, and these active groups hope to accomplish and to give more each year. The chapters have separate meeting schedules and generally meet September through May, though the St. George's chapter has a group of craftswomen who meet weekly throughout the summer and early fall in preparation for the Christmas Shop. Please consider joining the women of the parish and enjoying the rewards of fellowship and spreading the love of God through the ministries of the ECW. For more information on the chapters, please contact Laura Dotterer, ECW President through the parish office. 227-7202. |
