Autumn is closing in, and it is time to begin thinking about one of the major charitable events of the season! The 46th Annual Rehoboth Beach Christmas Shop is sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of All Saints' Church in Rehoboth Beach and St. George's Chapel in Harbeson. This year's co-chairs, Ann Bateman and Priscilla Smith, have been hard at work to make this a wonderful event for all.
Residents and visitors will get a head start on shopping for unique Christmas gifts in a festive holiday setting at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. "I am excited about this year's show and having a chance to be part of such a wonderful event that gives so much back to our local community," Ann Bateman said. "We have seven great new vendors in addition to the many returning favorites that people look forward to seeing each year."
Many vendors from Delaware and beyond will bring a broad array of items such as one-of-a-kind jewelry, classic home accents, chic clothing, goumet candies and food, holiday décor, and more. The Episcopal Church Women will offer their exceptional hand-crafted gifts, scrumptious baked goods, a daily café and the popular "Potpourri" gently used items booth.
The Christmas Shop will kick off with the Gala Preview Party, Thursday, October 9th from 6-8 p.m. Tickets for the party are $30 at the door and include complimentary food and beverages as well as daily admission to the Christmas Shop.
The Christmas Shop hours are:
10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, October 10th & 11th
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 12th.
Admission is $2. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
The Rehoboth Christmas Shop funds a major form of outreach to the community for all Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel. More than two doezen charities benefit from the proceeds, with most of the money staying in Sussex County. Last year's Christmas Shop gave away more than $20,000 to local organizations and ministries, including West Side New Beginnings, Bear Hugs for Babies, Delaware Hospice, The Way Home, Crisis House, and Meals on Wheels.
Please plan to join us for this great Rehoboth holiday tradition!
